Dusty Wiggins was born born and raised in the coastal city of Ventura, CA, which lies between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. He and his two beautiful teenage daughters currently live and call his boyhood stomping grounds home. 

As an employee for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Dusty’s “day job” for the past 13 years has been as an Ocean Lifeguard Specialist. Being blessed to work on the beaches of Mailbu, CA, Dusty has been able to embrace his love for the open ocean and the surf. If he’s not at home playing music or writing a song, chances are very good you’ll find him at the beach surfing, paddling, or just having a relaxing beach day with his daughters.

Dusty and his girls attend Ventura Missionary Church where he serves as a worship leader. Since the age of 17 he's been leading worship, and this journey has taken him all over the United States and to countries such as Mexico and England. Dusty’s passion to worship comes from a seed that God placed deep inside his heart while he was quite young. “I remember God radically touching me during a Sunday morning worship service when I was just 7 years old,” Dusty remembers, “and ever since, I have been passionately pursuing God’s heart through every season that life brings... and I try to encourage as many as I can along the way to worship God with everything they have and to totally go for it!”

With the release of his debut album Standing Stronger, Dusty’s hope is that everyone who listens to his songs will be encouraged to stay the course. “I wrote some of these songs from a real place of brokenness,” Dusty recalls, “but at the same time from a deep place of healing, that only God could give and orchestrate in my heart.”

For example, “Faithful and True” and “Celebrate Your Rescue” are written exactly from that place of brokenness and healing. “I love the message of hope in these songs,” Dusty notes. “I was at a place in my life where I had lost some family and friends, and everything was being stripped away from me. But God remained faithful and true, and everyday He poured His love down on me and rescued me.”

The title track, “Standing Stronger,” is a song based from Psalm 40:1-3, Ephesians 6:10-14 and Philippians 3:12-14. It declares the sufficiency of God’s strength that fills the heart of a believer, enabling that person to stand firm by pressing on in the truth of who God is... Faithful. The song’s bridge is a powerful proclamation: “Pressing on, I take hold of You / Standing strong, walking in Your truth / Spirit come, breathe life anew / Forever Love, I will follow You.” 

“How Great You Are,” is a powerful song that highlights who God is, and gives the worshipper the opportunity to broadcast vocally the greatness of God. “To The One” and “You Shine Brighter” celebrate what God has done for us, and how He moves and orchestrates in and around us in our daily lives. Allowing the worshipper to see God in a very tangible way.      

Then there’s “Love’s Embrace.” A warm, tender song that speaks straight to the one who’s heart may be lonely or abandoned, and is in need of God to blanket them with His unfailing love and grace. “I love being alone with my Father and playing Him this song,” Dusty says, “every time I’m filled with His peace and comfort.”

As a songwriter, Dusty has a gift for being able to write things in a simple, relevant and meaningful way. When he writes a song it’s very evident he’s embracing every demographic and generation, because they are so accessible. These songs work well in a church setting and are very singable, even after the first listen.

So, the 7 year old boy who felt God radically touch him and place a passion to worship in his heart, has never stopped running after God’s own heart. Thankfully, Dusty’s focus is not fixed on the storms that we all face along the way, but on the God who equips us and gives us strength to stand stronger each time we face them... and this collection of songs gives testimony to that.
